PIERCING FAQ

TATTOO FAQ

TATTOO TIPS!

  • We require government issued photo ID for ALL tattoo and piercing procedures.

  • For piercing minors (under 16) we require valid government issued photo ID from the consenting parent or legal guardian, and piece of government issued photo ID for the minor receiving the piercing (passport, learners licence, walking licence, or status card).

  • For piercing minors (under 14) we require valid government issued photo ID from the consenting parent or legal guardian, and the birth certificate for the minor receiving the piercing. Piercings under the age of 14 need to be discussed with our piercers prior to the day, please call 780-482-2662 for more info.

  • All piercing prices are entirely dependent on the choice of jewelry, and for that reason we do not have a price-list posted. Please stop by at your convenience and we can price some options out for you once we can see what you’re drawn to!

  • All piercings are done on a walk-in basis between 12pm and 7pm Tuesday-Saturday.

  • We do not pierce with outside jewelry unless we can confirm it is from a reputable supplier we carry. In that case we would need the jewelry at least 1 week prior to the piercing date to thoroughly clean it.

  • We do not offer cheek piercings, microdermals/surface piercings, lateral/horizontal tongue piercings, frenulum piercings or male genital piercings.

  • Please note that some piercings are anatomy specific and our piercers may need to assess the area to ensure it can safely and properly heal.

  • Some people have claimed a daith piercing has helped with migraines/headaches, however we cannot guarantee any relief or alleviation from pain.

  • All artists at Atomic Zombie charge $175/hr plus a $20 supply fee and GST.

  • If a tattoo takes less than 40mins, it falls under our minimum charge which is $100 plus a $20 supply fee.

  • We typically do not have availability for walk-ins and prefer to book appointments in advance, and we also often require a consultation prior to booking in.

  • Consultations are typically booked as an opportunity for the client to discuss their design with an artist. During the consultation the artist can give the client a rough estimate of time and cost.

  • We require a non-refundable deposit of $105, $210, or $315 to secure any tattoo appointments. The deposit price is based on how many appointments need to be booked, as well as the size of the piece.

  • We have a strict policy that we are unable to send advance drawings of our artists designs prior to any tattoo appointment date. If you aren’t %100 confident that you and your artist are on the same page let us know and another consultation can be booked to further discuss the project.

  • Any changes made to the design after the consultation appointment may result in a forfeited deposit and rescheduling of appointment(s). Small changes are to be expected, but please do not change your entire tattoo design as we will have to reschedule your appointment(s).

  • We have a strict policy not to do hand or finger tattoos unless the person is already visibly/heavily tattooed (i.e. having full sleeves, full leg pieces, a chest piece, etc). Most reputable studios will have a similar policy. We also have a policy to avoid tattooing hands and more visible areas (neck and face) until you have greater tattoo coverage in an effort to prevent our clients from limiting any future opportunities.

  • We require at least 48 hours notice prior to your appointment to cancel or reschedule, otherwise your deposit will be forfeited. There are no exceptions.

  • Government issued photo ID will be required for EVERY appointment. There are no exceptions.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age on the day of your appointment. There are no exceptions.

  • Deposits are 100% non refundable. There are no exceptions.

  • Late arrivals (anything more than 15 minutes) can result in loss of deposit and rescheduling of appointment(s).

  • Only 1 person may accompany you to your appointment, if necessary.

  • We ask that you obtain adequate childcare prior to your appointment as we do not allow children in the tattooing areas. They can be quite stressful for artists and other clients.

  • We do not offer tattoos to those who are pregnant or nursing.

  • Make sure to have a good meal before every appointment! Bring snacks and beverages when coming in for an extended session.

  • Stay hydrated in the days prior to your appointment.

  • Do not drink any alcohol or take any drugs (unless prescribed by a licensed physician). Please make sure you let your tattoo artist know of any medication you may be taking prior to the appointment.

  • Dress comfortably! The more comfortable you are, the better you will sit which is necessary for a good tattoo!

  • Prior to your appointment, it is important to have a shower and mildly exfoliate the skin.

  • Focus on breathing and sitting as still as possible during the tattoo.

  • Free parking is available behind our studio, or paid parking behind Evolve Fitness one block North of our location.
